Pesky Aliens

It seems like every time I am starting to relax and fall asleep aliens come and probe me. Last night the little green men came down from their disk-shaped ship to find out if I could float after eating 20lbs (9.0718474 kilograms for you metric fans) of brownies. So they kept making me eat more and more brownies, at around 3 lbs (again 1.36077711 kilograms) I just couldn't eat anymore. They started to get very frustrated with me and kept pushing me to eat more. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get any more down... the more I ate, the more I started to sweat. Soon I found myself feeling dizzy and becoming short of breath and the last thing I saw before I hit the floor was two little kids in green costumes stealing my stereo.

What the heck does this have to do with anything? I don't know but I decided that I was going to sit down and write something and this is all that came to my mind.

Emotions

When I see the love of my life, I feel an intense feeling of happiness! When I see a bag of M&Ms I also feel an intense feeling, could it be described as happiness?

Since emotions are just chemical responses to our perceived reality, how do we differentiate the value of each type of emotion? If one is to argue that the value of my love for another person is greater than my love of M&Ms, what would be the basis of their argument? At a chemical level, they probably differ by a few molecules..... In fact, it may turn out that the chemicals involved in my love for M&Ms are more rare than other kinds of love and thus my love of M&Ms should be valued above all other emotions I can feel.

A poem

Whisper to me and tell me your dreams
Your visions this night are not as them seem

Visions of sadness, anger, and pain
Feeling your chest as your heart starts to strain

Distant shadows and gloom disappear
As I hold your hand and banish your fear

Gentle yet steady I'll show you the way
Open your eyes for the bright sunny day

What are they thinking??

When they show their teeth, they are mad; when they wag their tails they are happy.... besides that, dogs are a total mystery to me. Why is it that they love fetching the ball so much but when they get back to you, they can't seem to let it go.
