Keepin it real

I heard this funny radio advertisement this morning where one of the guys said "I'm keeping it real, so real I only read non-fiction". While the rest of the ad was lame, this line had me laughing for a good 1/4 mile. So keep it real people, don't read fiction, don't use artificial sweeteners, and don't study AI!

A mirror for your soul

Most everyone looks in a mirror every day, usually when you wake up, you go to the bathroom to brush your teeth or to clear out your eye buggers. We look in the mirror and think that the person we see on the other side is us.... but that's only a small part of the truth. You are not your eyes, or the color of your hair, or the smile that you exchange with others. If only there were a mirror for the soul that could help people see who they are in terms of their values, beliefs, and the daily actions that really define them.

Physical flaws are easy to detect and fix but how often is it that people really reflect on their actions and correct them?!

Judge me by my deeds and not by my dress!

Object or Action?

Should we assign value to the object or the action that created it. Objects eventually deteriorate and vanish while actions are at best fleeting and attached to the individual (an object) that performs them.

David, the object of Michelangelo's actions is a statue that will one day be no more. Michelangelo, a man, is dead. I appreciate the statue as art, I am amazed at the skill required to create it, but where is the value?
